D’you know what, I don’t really have a lot of insight into what other people’s perceptions are of me, to be honest with you. With my friends, it’s been just normal. I’ve got quite a close-knit, tight group of friends – we’ve grown up together since we were tiny. And we all live together now, or some of us live together. And we’re kinda used to going through situations like this, because one of my close friends had a motorcycle accident – about 4 years ago now, probably? And we went through the whole stages of that, you know: barely survived, now paralysed from the chest down. So I guess we’re kind of used to these situations and how to deal with them. We know how to just act normally, and just treat the person the same – and that’s been the same with me, I’ve noticed no difference really.
Well, that’s the thing, whenever you feel down or sad I think about my friend, I think it could be a lot worse. I think about people who haven’t found a match and you’re on dialysis, people who are a lot more unlucky, in a worse situation than me.
